Mach 6, 2012. Hero mom

I read a very heartfelt article about how a mother did everything in her power to save her two children, but unfortunately couldn't save her own two legs. Her husband was away at the time, and was texting her warning about the storm that was coming in. None of them thought that it would be that horrible of a storm. It killed 39 people, there were 140 reported twists, and 76 confirmed landings. Decker said "I never, ever thought in a million years my house would be blown away."After Decker took her children downstairs, she shielded them with a comforter. That was able to save her children with not even a scratch, but they still had to amputate her legs after part of the wall fell on them and crushed them. After the storm, her son who's only eight, went to the neighbors house and got help. It's horrible for her to lose her legs, but she still gets to watch her two children grow up.

  1. Good post. A very heroic mother. I agree that at least she is alive and gets to see her children grow up. There were 39 other people who lost their lives in the tornado outbreak who don't get that chance. It is very sad what happened, but it definitely could have been worse for this family.
