A recovering acid victim from Pakistan had over three dozen different surgeries when she gave up her life and committed suicide by jumping out of a sixth floor building. There's been over 8,500 acid attacks in Pakistan since 2011 and nobody seems to be doing anything about it. FakhraYounus was sleeping at her mothers house in the middle of the night next to her 5 year old son, when her ex husband poured acid all over her face. They were in a unusual marriage full of mental and physical abuse when she decided to get away. The acid completely melted her nose and a large part of her mouth together. Friends and family feared every day that she would die in her sleep because of suffocation, so they put a straw out the corner of her mouth that was still left to keep her breathing. The ex husband denies doing it and even says "You people should be a little considerate, I have three daughters and when they go to school people tease them." Since he has so many connections with the government, he escaped getting into any trouble.
Good post. Try to add a bit more reaction in addition to the good facts you provided. This is another sad case where inequalities exist. It amazes me how people can be so filled with anger that they would resort to this kind of act.
